The Southeastern Mvskoke Nation is gearing up for its Second Annual Creek Friends Festival, set for Saturday, October 11, 2025, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the tribal grounds located at 242 County Road 2254 in Troy, Alabama.
The family-oriented event will celebrate Native American culture with a day full of activities, entertainment, and education. Admission is $5, while children under 12 are admitted free. In addition, a special school field trip day has been scheduled for Friday, October 10, to give students from area schools an opportunity to learn about Native history and traditions.
Festivalgoers can look forward to a wide array of attractions, including stomp dancing, native dancers, and a candy dance. Interactive and educational exhibits will feature flint knapping, story-telling, arts and crafts, and arrowhead digging. Guests can also enjoy live music, drums, a photo booth, face painting, and traditional games like the stickball game.
Food vendors will serve traditional and modern favorites such as fry bread, Indian tacos, BBQ, hot dogs, roasted corn, and lemonade. Native American artisans will showcase handmade jewelry, bone carvings, woodwork, shell carvings, and stick weaving. Souvenir items such as T-shirts and caps will also be available.
“It is a great honor to once again host an educational and fun event in which students and families can visit, learn, and have fun,” said Southeastern Mvskoke Nation Tribal Chief Michelle Gilmore.
