OZARK — Approximately 50 residents, business leaders, and community stakeholders gathered early Monday morning for a special breakfast with state legislators hosted by the organization, offering attendees a chance to hear directly from their state lawmakers and ask questions about issues impacting the region.
The event, organized by Chamber Director Rosemarie Williamson, featured updates from Alabama State Senator Donnie Chesteen and State Representatives Steve Clouse and Marcus Paramore. Sen. Josh Carnley was also invited but was not in attendance.
Lawmakers provided insights into the current legislative session and discussed matters affecting Dale County and surrounding communities. Topics included economic development, education, infrastructure, and other state-level initiatives with local impact. Following their remarks, the legislators took questions from the audience, allowing for direct dialogue on community concerns.
Williamson said the purpose of the breakfast was simple but important.
“The community needs the opportunity to hear directly from our legislators and have the opportunity to ask questions,” she said.
She emphasized the value of face-to-face interaction between elected officials and the people they represent, noting that events like this help strengthen communication and understanding.
Chamber officials said the breakfast is part of an ongoing effort to foster stronger connections between state and local leadership, local businesses, and residents. Monday’s turnout reflected strong interest from the community in staying informed and engaged with the legislative process.
The Ozark Area Chamber of Commerce will host another event, Coffee and Conversation, with Ozark Mayor Charles Ward, on March 11, from 7:30-8:30 a.m. The Chamber is located in the historic Holman House at 285 E.
