The Dothan Police Department announced today that three men have been arrested and charged in connection with what investigators describe as an illegal sex trafficking operation linked to a social media platform.
According to the Dothan Police Department, Adam Scott Moore, 42; Jeremy Leonard Blackmon, 39; and Jimmie Lee Covington Jr., 38 were arrested on December 10, 2025, following a two-month investigation. Each suspect faces two counts of Human Trafficking in the 2nd degree, along with additional charges.
Police say the investigation began in November when officers working a drug-related case uncovered suspicious activity connected to the three men. Investigators were “alerted to activity by the three suspects involving setting up sexual encounters with clients through a social media platform,” the release stated.
Authorities allege Moore, Blackmon, and Covington coordinated and profited from illegal sexual activity taking place at local hotels. “Blackmon, Covington, and Moore were involved in the scheduling, payment, and protection of adult females over the age of 18 while they engaged in unlawful sexual activity for payment,” investigators reported.
During the operations, officers say they also discovered unrelated criminal activity. Moore now faces charges of Chemical Endangerment of a Child in addition to the trafficking counts. Blackmon has been charged with Rape 1st degree and has five active failure-to-appear warrants with Dothan City Court. Covington’s additional charges include only the two trafficking counts.
All three suspects are currently being held without bond at the Houston County Jail. Police note that the case remains active and that “more arrests and charges are possible as the investigation continues.”
Due to the nature of the case, the department said no additional details will be released at this time. In the statement, Chief William E. Benny emphasized the seriousness of trafficking crimes, saying, “Human Trafficking is a crime for which vulnerable individuals are exploited to benefit criminals by subjecting victims to terrible situations and conditions. No person should be subjected to human trafficking.”
Chief Benny also reaffirmed the department’s commitment to combating trafficking in the Wiregrass. “The Dothan Police Department will aggressively follow leads on human trafficking in our area and advocate for aggressive prosecution of those involved. We’ll help. We’ll listen.”
