ARITON— The Ariton boys’ varsity basketball team delivered a spectacular and dominating performance on the court, overwhelming Emmanuel Christian 77–10 in a lopsided non-area matchup.
The Purple Cats set the tone early with relentless defense and balanced scoring, quickly building a commanding lead that allowed them to control the pace for the remainder of the game. Ariton’s depth was on full display as multiple players contributed offensively.
Grant Jones led Ariton with 11 points, while Bryce Johnson and Addison Senn each added eight points. Conner Davidson chipped in seven points as Ariton continued to spread the scoring throughout the lineup.
Emmanuel Christian struggled to find an offensive rhythm against Ariton’s pressure defense. W. Champion led Emmanuel as their top scorer, adding seven points to the board.
Ariton will look to carry the momentum from this decisive win into its upcoming games as the season continues. The Purple Cats will take on Slocomb in an away game on Thursday, Dec. 18. With last night’s victory, Ariton improves its win-loss record to 9-2.
