DALEVILLE—The Miss Daleville Pageant Program is mourning alongside its reigning titleholder, Brandy Flowers, following the death of her mother, Tracey Upshaw, a woman remembered by organizers and loved ones for her kindness, generosity, and lasting impact on those around her.
In a statement shared by the Miss Daleville Pageant Program and the Daleville Area Chamber of Commerce, Tracey was described as a deeply cherished presence whose influence extended well beyond the pageant community.
“It is with heavy hearts that our Miss Daleville Pageant Program family stands beside our amazing Miss Daleville, Brandy, during the heartbreaking loss of her sweet and wonderful mother, Tracey,” the statement read.
Tracey Upshaw was remembered as someone who consistently placed others before herself, offering support, compassion, and encouragement wherever she went.
“Tracey was truly a shining light, beautiful, kind, selfless, loving, and always willing to lend a helping hand to others,” the statement continued. “Her beautiful spirit touched so many lives, and the love she poured into those around her will never be forgotten. While our hearts ache over this tremendous loss, we find comfort in knowing her legacy of love, strength, and kindness will continue to live on through Brandy and all who knew her.”
The pageant program also emphasized its close-knit nature and the support being shown to the Upshaw family during this difficult time.
“The Miss Daleville Pageant Program is more than a pageant, it is a family. In times of sorrow, we come together to love, support, and uplift one another,” the statement said. “We ask that you please keep Brandy and her entire family in your thoughts and prayers during this incredibly difficult time.”
Brandy Flowers is also being celebrated for her academic goals and warm personality as she recently began her college journey. She shared that she enjoys science, especially learning about the human body and how it functions, and she hopes to become a pediatrician and eventually open her own pediatric clinic. Known for her outgoing nature, she said she likes to welcome new students by starting conversations and getting to know them on a deeper level as they adjust to new environments.
Brandy Flowers also shared a personal message expressing gratitude for the outpouring of support and announcing funeral arrangements.
“Good evening everyone, sorry for the late post,” she wrote. “Thank you to all for your love, prayers, and condolences. It is greatly appreciated.”
She added that visitation and services have been scheduled for her mother.
“With this being said, my mother’s viewing will be held on Friday at 1 p.m. located at Grubbs Funeral Home in Troy, Ala. The funeral will be held at the Pike County High School Gymnasium, on Saturday at 1:30 p.m.,” she wrote. “We ask that you please continue to keep our family in your thoughts and prayers. Thank you.”
Community members across Daleville and surrounding areas have continued to share messages of sympathy and support for the Upshaw family, remembering Tracey Upshaw for the positive impact she made during her life.
