A statewide fundraising effort aimed at strengthening youth development programs is now underway as the Tractor Supply Paper Clover campaign continues through May 3, giving customers an opportunity to directly support 4-H programs with simple in-store or online donations.

The campaign, held at Tractor Supply Company locations nationwide, allows customers to purchase paper clovers at checkout or through online orders. Each contribution goes toward local and national 4-H initiatives focused on youth education and leadership development.

According to program organizers, 90 percent of funds raised remain in the county where the donation is made, directly supporting local 4-H programming. The remaining 10 percent is distributed to support national 4-H mission efforts.

The initiative, which is held twice each year, has become one of the most consistent fundraising partnerships supporting youth development across the country.

Since the partnership began in 2010, the Paper Clover campaign has raised more than $24 million nationwide. Those funds have supported hands-on learning opportunities in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM), agriculture, healthy living, and civic engagement for thousands of students.

“Every year we see how the Paper Clover campaign can open doors for students to find their spark in 4-H,” said Joy Scott, a 4-H Extension specialist with the Alabama Cooperative Extension System. “The opportunities supported by these donations prepare 4-H’ers to be beyond ready for higher education, careers, and life.”

Local Extension officials say the campaign’s impact is especially visible at the county level, where funds directly support clubs, educational programming, and student participation in statewide events and competitions.

To help encourage participation, 4-H clubs often partner with local Tractor Supply stores during the campaign, setting up displays, hosting demonstrations, and speaking with customers about how donations support youth programs.

“This giving opportunity is unique because 4-H’ers can interact with customers, allowing them to see first-hand how their donation can make an impact,” said Tasha Worden, secretary and treasurer for the Alabama 4-H Club Foundation.

In Dale County, Extension officials are also encouraging community participation in the campaign as it continues through early May.

“🍀 Our Paper Clover campaign is going strong, and we want to see your name on the wall in the Ozark store 🍀 Alabama 4-H in Dale County appreciates your support of Tractor Supply and our students! 🍀” the Dale County Extension Office said in a statement.

The Paper Clover campaign’s spring fundraising period runs through May 3, with a second annual campaign scheduled for Nov. 28 through Dec. 14.
