Great Grocery Giveaway to Support Ozark Families in Need Amid SNAP Funding Lapse
OZARK— Two local churches are joining forces this week to help families in need by distributing food on Thursday, November 6, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The program will provide a wide range of groceries to qualifying families at two separate locations in Ozark. Participants must present a valid EBT card and photo ID to receive assistance.
Greater Sardis Missionary Baptist Church, located at 707 W. Reynolds Street, will distribute canned, dry, and other non-perishable food items. Meanwhile, St. Mark A.M.E. Zion Church at 155 Liberty Avenue will be offering meats, cold items, and perishable foods during the same hours of 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Reverend Carter of St. Mark A.M.E. Zion Church says the effort by the two churches aims to provide support and relief to those who may be struggling and facing food shortages as many continue to feel the effects of the ongoing federal shutdown and lapse in SNAP funding.
Residents are encouraged to arrive early, as supplies are limited and will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.
