The Dale County High School (DCHS) Warriors rolled to a 28–6 victory over the Daleville High School (DHS) Warhawks on Friday night, using a balanced offensive attack and a relentless defensive performance to secure the county rivalry win.
After a scoreless first quarter, the Warriors came alive in the second, striking twice to take a 14–0 lead into halftime. Quarterback Aaron Beasley led the offense with 94 passing yards, while Junior Smith connected on a 35-yard touchdown pass to Stacy Atkins. Smith also added two rushing scores — one from 3 yards out and another from 4 — to help Dale County pull away.
Daleville scores midway through the third quarter, trimming the lead to 14–6, but the Warriors quickly answered and never looked back. Dale County’s defense then took control, stifling the Warhawks’ offense and forcing multiple turnovers.
Smith was a standout on both sides of the ball, recording two sacks, two forced fumbles, and even blocking a punt. Jordan Owens added an interception and three pass deflections, while Cody Jaggars also grabbed a pick. Parker Bowman recovered a fumble and notched eight tackles, and Jaylen Griffin led the team with 10 tackles. Atkins made his mark on defense as well with eight tackles.
The Warriors finished with 257 yards of total offense and dominated the turnover battle to cap off the 28–6 victory.
With the win, Dale County improves its record and builds momentum heading into the next stretch of the season, while Daleville looks to rebound after the tough loss. Next week, the Warriors face off against Pike County while the Warhawks take on Ashford for a home game and Senior Night.
