MIDLAND CITY—The Dale County High School Warriors delivered a shutout performance Friday night, overwhelming Geneva High School 62–0 to secure their second straight region championship — the program’s first back-to-back titles since 2013 and 2014.
From the opening kickoff, the Warriors controlled every aspect of the game. Quarterback Aaron Beasley led a high-powered offensive attack that piled up 334 total yards, including 257 yards on the ground.
DCHS senior standout Junior Smith showcased his versatility, rushing for a 14-yard touchdown, throwing a 29-yard scoring strike to Beasley, and catching a 2-yard touchdown pass from Beasley later in the game.
Beasley finished with three touchdown passes, connecting with Smith, Stacy Atkins on a 20-yard score, and Kam Cotton on an 18-yard strike. The rushing game was equally dominant, with Andrew Nelson breaking free for a 50-yard touchdown, Riley McDaniel scoring from 27 yards out, and Cornell Shipman adding a 13-yard TD to the tally.
The defense was just as fierce, holding Geneva scoreless while producing big plays of their own. Kam Cotton intercepted a pass and returned it 60 yards for a touchdown, while Parker Bowman and Nolan Rumph each recorded sacks that helped keep the Panthers’ offense off balance all night.
Kicker Kristian Oliver was perfect on the evening, going 8-for-8 on extra points.
By halftime, Dale County had already built a commanding 42–0 lead, and the Warriors never looked back, cruising to a 62–0 final.
With the win, the Warriors not only clinched the region title but also cemented their reputation as one of the most explosive and balanced teams in the area heading into postseason play.
“This group has worked hard all season, and to see them make history for Dale County football again is something special,” said head coach Evan Ballard. “They play for each other, and that’s what makes them tough to beat.”
Dale County will look to carry its momentum into the playoffs as the Warriors aim to extend their remarkable run.

First Quarter: Offensive Fireworks
Dale County wasted no time lighting up the scoreboard.
8:49 left in the first quarter – Junior Smith rushed 14 yards for the opening touchdown.
4:34 remaining in the first – Aaron Beasley connected with Stacy Atkins on a 20-yard touchdown pass.
1:00 left in the first quarter – Beasley found Kam Cotton for an 18-yard scoring strike.
By the end of the first quarter, the Warriors led 21–0, and the home crowd could already sense the victory.
Second Quarter: Total Domination
The onslaught continued in the second quarter as Dale County’s offense kept rolling and the defense tightened its grip.
9:10 remaining – Andrew Nelson broke free for a 50-yard rushing touchdown.
8:11 left – Beasley hit Junior Smith for a 2-yard touchdown pass.
5:11 remaining – Kam Cotton intercepted a Geneva pass and sprinted 60 yards for a defensive touchdown.
By halftime, the Warriors were in full control, leading 42–0.
Third Quarter: Still Unstoppable
The second half opened with more of the same.
5:23 left in the third quarter – Riley McDaniel powered in from 27 yards out, extending the lead to 49–0.
Fourth Quarter: Finishing Strong
Even with substitutes seeing action, Dale County kept the scoreboard moving.
6:11 left in the game – Cornell Shipman capped off the night with a 13-yard rushing touchdown, pushing the lead to 55–0.
The Warriors added one more score late, sealing the 62–0 final.
