Southeast Alabama AMVETS Post 7 members will help provide lunch as part of the upcoming Wiregrass Military, Veterans, and First Responder Suicide Prevention Summit, scheduled for Friday, March 13, 2026, in Enterprise.
The free summit will take place from 8:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. at the Church on Boll Weevil Circle, located at 2017 Boll Weevil Circle in Enterprise. Organizers say the event is designed to bring together current and former military service members, first responders, mental health professionals, medical providers, family members, and community supporters to address suicide prevention and mental health wellness.
Hosted by the Wiregrass Military, Veteran, First Responder Coalition, the summit will focus on practical tools, shared experiences, and available resources aimed at strengthening support networks across the region.
The coalition is made up of veterans, first responders, mental health professionals, and community advocates who share a common goal of connecting individuals in need with local and regional resources.
The agenda includes several nationally recognized and evidence-based programs and discussions, including VA S.A.V.E., Traumatic Brain Injury Intersection, Post Traumatic Growth, Struggle Well, SAFER Together, and a session titled “The Cocktail & the Problem with Overprescribing Medication.” A panel discussion will also be held to allow for open dialogue and shared perspectives.
Continuing education credit hours will be available for a wide range of professionals who attend.
Coffee for the event will be provided by Bean Bro, and lunch will be served by Southeast Alabama AMVETS Post 7.
