Authorities are investigating a reported edged weapon assault that left a woman injured Tuesday night on Lantana Court in Rehobeth.
Houston County 911 received an emergency call and dispatched Houston County sheriff’s deputies, Taylor Police officers, and Rehobeth Fire-Rescue to the scene. Houston County Sheriff’s deputies secured the scene and allowed emergency medical personnel to provide care to the victim.
After the female victim was treated at the scene by Rehobeth Fire-Rescue, she was then taken to Southeast Health for further care. Her current condition has not been released.
Reports indicate that the suspect was taken into custody at the scene. Investigators believe the incident stemmed from a domestic dispute. Also, witnesses report a neighbor intervened and stopped the assault before authorities arrived.
The Houston County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate, and more information will be provided as it becomes available to us.
