OZARK, Ala. — The Carroll High Eagles delivered a dominant four-quarter performance at home Tuesday night, pulling away early and rolling to an 80–42 varsity boys basketball victory over.
Carroll set the tone from the opening tip, jumping out to a 20–10 lead by the end of the first quarter. The early surge energized the home crowd, which stayed loud throughout the night as the Eagles continued to build momentum.
The Eagles maintained control in the second quarter, outscoring Abbeville 23–18 to take a 43–28 advantage into halftime, drawing repeated cheers from the stands as Carroll capitalized on defensive stops and fast-break opportunities.
Abbeville showed some fight coming out of the break, scoring 14 points in the third quarter, but Carroll matched the effort offensively, adding 19 points of its own to maintain a 62–42 lead heading into the final period.
The atmosphere inside the gym reached another level in the fourth quarter as Carroll turned in its strongest defensive showing, holding Abbeville scoreless while pouring in 18 points to close out the win. Each defensive stop and basket was met with rising applause from the home crowd as the outcome became inevitable.
Andre March led Carroll with an impressive 31-point performance, also adding 3 rebounds and an assist. Devon Pruitt added 16 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, and a steal, while Jeremiah Hairston chipped in 14 points, 2 steals, and 1 rebound and assist. Defensively, Stuckey contributed 3 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 steals. With this strong showing, the Eagles maintained balanced offensive and defensive play throughout the night.
For Abbeville, Alec Spann paced the offense with 18 points, and Landon Chitty contributed nine in the loss.
The strong home victory highlighted Carroll’s depth, defensive intensity, and ability to feed off the energy of its supporters as the Eagles look to carry that momentum into their last game of the season. The Eagles take on Rehobeth at home on Tuesday, February 3.
